Although Dornbirn is a relatively young city, it is the most populous city in Vorarlberg. Dornbirn is often referred to as a trade fair city or shopping town.

Central location

Dornbirn's central location is an excellent starting point for all activities in the region. Lake Constance, Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and parts of south-western Germany are just a stone's throw away.

Dornbirn is located on the edge of the Eastern Alps and therefore boasts a number of mountain peaks. The Karren (976m) is considered the local mountain and is also accessible by cable car, while the Staufen (1465m), the Mörzelspitze and the Hohe Freschen are also suitable for breathtaking hikes into the mountains.
